FC MEYRIN 1 ALBION 6
Hemed 03, Ince 29', Bruno 35, Starkey 40, Tilley 57, O'Grady 73
Brighton & Hove Albion got their pre-season campaign underway with a comfortable 6-1 win over Swiss third tier outfit FC Meyrin.
Tomer Hemed, Rohan Ince, Bruno and Jesse Starkey gave Albion a convincing 4-1 lead at the break in the Stade des Arberes.
After the interval James Tilley and Chris O'Grady added goals five and six, as Chris Hughton's side ended their tour on a high in the Geneva suburbs.
Israeli international Hemed didn't have long to wait for his first goal in an Albion shirt, which came after Sam Baldock sprung the offside trap in the third minute.
The returning striker beat the home keeper Fabio Monteiro to the ball, before side-stepping him to cut the ball back for Hemed to control and fire home at close range.
Albion looked comfortable, even after losing skipper Gordon Greer, who was replaced by under-18 defender Ben White - but the hosts caused a surprise when they levelled through Arold Belladon.
The FC Meyrin midfielder made a good run in behind Albion's defence, and then fired home, across goal, from a tight angle on the left to level the scores in the 12th minute.
Solly March - also returning from injury - went close for Albion when he rattled the bar from a free kick.
Ince restored Albion's lead when he fired home following a spell of penalty-box pinball, after finding space at the far post.

Bruno extended the lead with a well-struck, low drive from distance, after good work from Beram Kayal in the box.
Under-21 midfielder Starkey, playing down the left, made it 4-1 five minutes before half-time, sliding in to convert March's low cutback, after he'd broken down the right.
Hughton rang the changes during the interval, with only Glen Rea returning after the break to partner Lewis Dunk at the heart of the defence.
Youngster Tilley made it 5-1 with a stunning strike, as the 17-year-old cut in from the right and arrowed a shot into the top corner.
Inigo Calderon saw a firm downward header well saved by Bojan Grujicic in the FC Meyrin goal, and he also did well to deny O'Grady seconds later.
O'Grady got Albion's sixth, as he beat the offside trap before going around keeper Grujicic and slotting home.
