CALDE ON TOP OF THE WORLD

9 July 2015

Brighton & Hove Albion's reigning Player of the Season Inigo Calderon took time out between morning and evening pre-season training in the Alps to venture to the summit of Grande Motte.

One of the highest mountains in the Alps, Calderon took the mountain lift and then cable car to the 11,338ft peak, and Albion's media team joined him to document the trip via social media.

LATEST NEWS FROM SEAGULLS.CO.UK

Calderon told seagulls.co.uk, "I have never been at such a height in my life, it has been a really good trip, and there has been lots to do between many hard training sessions.

"The trip up Grande Motte was incredible - the views were sensational and the company was quite good as well!

"Tignes has been the best pre-season I have experienced. It's beautiful for sure, and I think the quality of the training has been much better; even though we are at altitude the environment and climate are much fresher and the quality has been better."

Calderon had already been to the summit with teammates Casper Ankergren and David Stockdale on Tuesday, between morning and afternoon training sessions, but overcast weather meant he was keen to take advantage of excellent conditions this afternoon.

Pictures of the trip are available to view on the club's Facebook page and twitter account.
