Kazenga LuaLua cannot wait to get back to action under his new Brighton & Hove Albion boss and old acquaintance Chris Hughton - after signing a new three-and-a-half year deal with the club this week.
Hughton was a coach and manager while LuaLua was on the books with Magpies and the live-wire winger told seagulls.co.uk, "I know him well from my time at Newcastle and it makes it even easier, because I know from Newcastle everything with him is good.
"I can’t really say when I will be back, all I can say is soon. Hopefully it won’t be too long. It will be a few weeks, maybe this month, we’re trying for before the end of this month, so I’ll be back soon."
Meanwhile LuaLua says it wasn't a difficult decision to commit his long term future to the club, and says he is loving life at the Albion.
"It was very easy. I’ve been here for a long time. It’s easy for me to make the decision; it’s about being at the right club and enjoying yourself.
"It’s not about moving around clubs. I don’t want to have any regrets in my life. You want to be happy and I think it’s a good choice for me."

LuaLua admitted he was sorry to see Sami Hyypia leave just before Christmas, and had thanked his former boss for the faith he showed in him.
"Sami gave me a chance and played me a lot this season and I have to thank him for that because before that I had been used me more as an impact player.
"Now I feel more settled here and I can’t wait to get back fit and continue that under the new manager.
"The gaffer knows me very well so it will be nice to get back training and work under him.
"Obviously he was a coach at Newcastle and I used to call him Chris and now I have to call him gaffer!
"I will have to get used to that, but I’m looking forward to working with him and I will be back training with the boys sooner rather than later."
