Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Paddy McCourt has joined Notts County on loan until the end of the season - although Seagulls boss Chris Hughton will have the option to recall the Northern Irish international after 28 days.
Hughton said, “Paddy has been an excellent professional in my time here and before I joined, but unfortunately he hasn’t been able to get the minutes on the pitch he would have wanted.
“So we wanted to get him some games and this loan to Notts County gives him the opportunity to go and play some regular first-team football. We also have the option - after 28 days - of a recall should we need to.”

The 31-year-old arrived at the club on a free transfer from Barnsley in the summer and made his Albion debut in the Capital One Cup second round tie against Swindon Town. He has since gone to make a total of 14 appearances this season; the last of which came in the 2-2 draw with Reading on Boxing Day.
Notts County will be the fifth club of McCourt’s career to date after previous spells at Derry City and Celtic.
