Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton is urging his squad to build on an improved performance against Brentford going into tonight’s match with Ipswich Town at the Amex.
The Seagulls produced an impressive defensive display to claim a share of the spoils at Griffin Park on Boxing Day and Hughton is expecting a tough test from Mick McCarthy’s men.
He said, “They’re a very good side, but we’re at home on the back of a clean sheet and we’ve got to build on that.
“For most of us that know Mick [McCarthy] and his team, it was just a matter of time before they moved up the table.
“We played very well at their place earlier in the season and arguably it was a good time to go there because they hadn’t got into their rhythm yet.
“They have a way of playing, they do it very well with a lot of good individuals in the team, and they are a team that can score plenty of goals."

The Seagulls boss is happy to have two consecutive home games coming up and praised his players for the way they have coped with a growing injury list.
“We have to make the most of them [home games]. At the moment we’ve had a few players out which has seen the squad stretched, but everybody that’s come in has done well and justified their selection in the team.
“We are a bit stretched at the moment but it’s an opportunity to get back to the Amex, where generally we’re strong and we need to pick up some wins again.”
Hughton revealed that both Kazenga LuaLua and Sam Baldock are not far away from returning to action in the New Year.
“Both of them are close, but they won’t be ready for Tuesday and we’re probably looking at the Hull FA Cup game.
"We’ll possibly have both of them available for the game, but the two games we have coming up now are probably going to be too early.”
