David Stockdale hailed the unity in the Brighton & Hove Albion squad following a 1-0 triumph over Nottingham Forest at the Amex.
The Seagulls got their 2015/16 Championship campaign off to a flying start after a 50th-minute strike from Kazenga LuaLua sealed a crucial opening day victory.
He told seagulls.co.uk, “There are a lot of positives to take out of Friday. Not just the win and the clean sheet, but the way we approached the game and the togetherness in the team; it was a really pleasing night for us.
“Last year was a learning curve for us and today we started off well. It was nice to see us up at the top of the table; I might take a photo of the league to use as a bit of confidence and push forward to see if we can stay there.
“We dominated around 80 per cent of the game and we’ve got to go and do that away from home now and earn back-to-back victories.
“They weren’t going to score easily and that’s what we need to be like throughout the season now.”

The Albion goalkeeper believes the result can be used as a springboard ahead of a hectic run of fixtures, with a Capital One Cup first round tie away at Southend United to come on Tuesday night.
“At the start of the season it’s not just confidence for individuals, it's confidence for the whole club including the fans. Confidence is a big thing and we’re going to try to push on and try to win every game.
“We’re going to take each game at a time and if we can take it like we did on Friday, then it will put us in very good stead. We’ve got our own in-house expectations and we will stick to them.
“I’ve got a few things to prove to people and that's a personal ambition this year. Coming in fit was a big one for me; I’ve lost about four to five kilograms so it was a big start for me and hopefully the rewards are starting to pay off.”
