Hemed (pen) '18
Brighton & Hove Albion ended their pre-season campaign with a 1-0 victory over UEFA Europa League winners Sevilla, courtesy of a Tomer Hemed penalty.
Hemed scored the only goal of the game on 17 minutes after he was fouled in the box and slotted the ball home for his first goal at the Amex stadium.
It was Albion who made the best start and almost took the lead after three minutes, Solly March pounced onto a loose ball and looked for Hemed in the centre but Sergio Rico intercepted.
On ten minutes, Bruno clashed heads with former Arsenal winger Jose Antonio-Reyes, and despite returning after lengthy treatment, the Spaniard eventually left the field on a stretcher.
Albion took the after 17 minutes, after a neat build up between Hemed and Sam Baldock deceived the Sevilla defence and Hemed was fouled in the box.
The Israeli striker then stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way to open his account from the penalty spot.
At the other end, David Stockdale made two smart saves in quick succession to firstly deny substitute Levgenii Konoplyanka from range, before tipping Jose Matos’ shot away at his near post.
Albion’s number one was called into action once again on 40 minutes as Konoplyanka's wild effort found its way to Munoz, whose flicked attempt produced a low save from Stockdale.
Gaetan Bong had a chance to double the lead just before the interval but Rico saved well.

The Seagulls started the second-half just as they had the first, as a long-range effort by Beram Kayal was spilt by Rico but his defence managed to clear the ball to safety.
After the hour mark Sevilla began to step up the pressure, Lewis Dunk was penalised after fouling David Suarez but Gael Kakuta wasted the resulting free kick.
Coke then went close four minutes later as his right-footed volley just flashed over the bar.
Both sides made a number of changes in the second-half with Danny Holla, Inigo Calderon, Liam Rosenior, Chris O’Grady, Jake Forster-Caskey and Rohan Ince all getting a run out.
On 74 minutes, an audacious effort from 20 yards out by Kayal almost doubled the lead; the Isreal international controlled the ball with his knee but his dipping volley went just over the bar.
Sevilla were almost level moments later when Viotolo was played in, but Stockdale saved well with his feet before Bong cleared the danger.
Kayal had another late chance but his shot from range but Rico held on and that’s how it finished.
