Match-winner Kazenga LuaLua revealed how a half-time pep talk from the boss helped him get Brighton & Hove Albion off to a winning start against Nottingham Forest at the Amex last night.
LuaLua, who struck the winner early in the second-half, said, "The right-back got an early yellow card, so the gaffer told me that every time I got a chance I should go at him.
"That’s what I did and I got past him and tried a shot and I was just happy to see the ball go in the back of the net.
"We played very well and created many chances.
"We should have scored more than one, but hopefully we can improve on that."

The fleet-footed wide man, who celebrated his goal with a trademark somersault, says he's relishing the team playing with more width.
"Last season under Sami Hyypia my role was a bit different. I was playing behind the strikers.
"This season the gaffer is telling me and Solly to stay wide. As winger you then have to get the ball and try and create chances for the strikers.
"We lost the first game of last season against Sheffield Wednesday so it was good to get started with a win."
Meanwhile, LuaLua highlighted the impact of two full debutants Tomer Hemed and Gaetan Bong.
"The gaffer signed Gaetan and Tomer very early in pre-season, so that was good as it enabled them to get to know the boys.
"They have been doing well in pre-season so I am not surprised that they both did a very good job tonight."
