AITC WEEKLY ROUND-UP

2 August 2015

It has been another busy week at Albion in the Community (AITC) as the charity celebrated one fundraiser while getting ready for its next major fundraising event.

Earlier this week some of the cyclists who took part in the recent Brighton to Paris bike ride attended a celebratory evening, with Steve Darby presented with £1,000 to spend at Giant Shoreham after being named the top fundraiser. Steve had reason to celebrate even before reaching the French capital after beating Type Two diabetes during his training. You can read about Steve’s diabetes victory HERE.

Preparations for AITC’s 25-mile trek continue and Albion fans’ favourites Bruno and Inigo Calderon have joined the charity in urging supporters to sign-up for the South Downs challenge. As part of National Parks Week, AITC is running a special offer: book three places on the trek and get a fourth free. This runs until the end of today (Sunday 2nd August). More information on the offer – and the walk – are online HERE.

AITC also held its second walking football tournament – with a team from Worthing beating Crystal Palace in the final. More information – including how to get involved with a local walking football team – are online HERE.
