Brighton & Hove Albion will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the club’s 1964/65 Division Four Championship triumph by welcoming several members of the league-winning team to the Amex for our final home game of the season against Watford, on Saturday.
The title was clinched on the last day of the season back on 26th April 1965 against Darlington at the Goldstone Ground, where goals from Jimmy Collins, Jack Smith and Wally Gould sealed a 3-1 win in front of 31,423 supporters.
Seven players from the championship-winning side attended the Players’ Awards Dinner at the Amex on Monday evening, where the Football League allowed them to be presented with the original Division Four trophy.

During the half-time interval on Saturday, Jimmy Collins, Norman Gall, Dave Turner, Robin (Nobby) Upton and Steve Burtenshaw will be presented to the Amex crowd and will parade the trophy that was secured 50 years ago.
To commemorate the occasion, Albion fans will be able to purchase a limited edition 1964/65 league winner’s scarf, along with a set of collector cards produced by the Historical & Collectors Society which will be available in the Stadium superstore.
The Watford edition of Seagull will also feature a dedication to the Championship triumph.
