Dan Burn helped Albion to a fourth consecutive Premier League clean sheet on Wednesday night.

Dan Burn says Albion will have no problem recovering from their Anfield exertions as they look to maintain their impressive momentum against Burnley.

The 1-0 win over the champions on Wednesday – Albion's first in the league against Liverpool since 1982 – improved their run since the start of the year to one defeat in eight, and that was a narrow 1-0 loss to Manchester City.

After arriving home early on Thursday, the squad will rest, recover and do some light training today before heading back to the north-west and Saturday's game at Turf Moor.

“The good thing about games coming thick and fast is you can keep the momentum we've got going,” he said. “We've got a positive mindset and we're looking forward to Saturday now because we're in a really good patch at the moment.

Dan Burn joked that he could have had a hat-trick against Liverpool with the chances he had on the night.

“Wednesday was a night that will live long in the memory for everyone at the club but we have to kick on now. Burnley is another massive game and we just have to recover and go again.”

Burn, 28, was disappointed not to score his first goal for nearly three years.

“I could have had a hat-trick!” he said. “The last time I scored was in April 2018 when I was at Wigan and we got promoted so I'm due one. It is coming - I'm getting in the positions, it's just a case of finishing the chances off.”

He was part of a defence which kept a clean sheet for the fourth successive game – a new club record in the top flight. “We've restricted Liverpool to not many chances and not many teams do that at Anfield. Any clean sheet in the Premier League is huge, to get one you've got to be doing well so to get four in a row shows we are doing a lot right.”

Burn believes Albion are belatedly getting the rewards for sticking to their principals, even when results didn't always reflect the level of their performances.

“I've never been worried because we all believe in the way the Gaffer wants us to play,” he added. “We have been creating chances but now we are finishing them and you can see when we do that we can dominate teams. To back up a really good performance against Tottenham with another one on Wednesday was massive.

“There was a lot of energy in our performance. Knowing you could get a result at Anfield, it makes you kick on and everyone was buzzing, it was thoroughly deserved and we need to keep it going now.”

Graham Potter spoke highly of Dan Burn after his superb performance at Anfield.

Head coach Graham Potter certainly appreciates what Burn brings to his team.

“I thought his performance was incredible,” said Potter. “I felt we could use Dan in the back post area and get him higher up the pitch on Wednesday and he caused Liverpool a lot of problems.

“He gave everything, but wherever you ask him to play he works so hard for the team and does his best.

He is a fantastic example of what a top athlete should be. He is everything you want from a professional footballer.”
