STOCKDALE: TOGETHERNESS IS KEY

26 October 2014

David Stockdale wants players and fans to stick together through Brighton & Hove Albion's current run of form - which has seen the Seagulls frustrated by five draws in the last six games.

The Albion keeper made a number of vital saves - including two excellent stops in the dying moments of the 1-1 draw with Rotherham on Saturday - and says the players share the same frustration as the fans.

"We're all disappointed, even though we are not losing, we're not picking up the points we should be. We feel exactly the same way as the fans, we understand how they are feeling but we want them to stick with us.

"They're a good set of fans and we need to stick together. We believe in the manager and believe in what he does. I'm sure we'll come through it."

Stockdale insists he and his teammates understand exactly what they need to do and believe they are doing everything they can to get back to winning ways.

"We're getting so close to a win. We need to go back to what we know and find our scoring boots.

"There's a lot of things we can do better and sometimes when your confidence is down it's tough but we're working hard everyday.

"As a goalkeeper I take as much responsibility for not scoring as a striker, it's a team game and we're in it together.

"The fans want to see results and hopefully we can start delivering them. We're nearly there but we can see the frustration the fans have."
