Brighton & Hove Albion women defender Yasmin Poole says the side need to be more clinical in front of goal after yesterday’s 2-1 defeat to Lewes at Woodside Road.

The Albion full-back believes the team need to take more opportunities to shoot in front of goal to get the results their performances deserve.
She told seagulls.co.uk, “We can win games by keeping the ball, but we need to shoot more. We hold on to the ball way too much and just need to pull the trigger at times.

“We had a lot of possession as always, but if we don’t have a shot then we’re not going to score.

“We need to be much more clinical in front of goal.”

Poole then looked ahead to the final match of the season against Gillingham on Sunday and encouraged her teammates to play with freedom against the current league leaders.

She added, “We’ve got nothing to lose against Gillingham. We’ve just got to play and enjoy our football, that’s the main thing.

“We are a good team and believe that we can be better than most of the sides in this league.”
