Albion women face Chichester in the Sussex Challenge Cup Final at Culver Road tonight, kick-off 7.30pm.

The Seagulls will be aiming to retain the trophy for a third consecutive season and John Donoghue says his side are raring to go ahead of the game.

He told seagulls.co.uk, “They’re all very excited and thinking about the prospect of potentially winning a medal and lifting a trophy.
“It’s going to be a very even game and I’m sure Chichester will be really focused, as a number of their players have appeared alongside ours in Sussex representative games.

"I’ve faced them in my capacity as manager of Worthing College as well.”

Donoghue has a couple of players missing, with keeper Toni-Anne Wayne ruled out due to an injured finger while Rebecca Merritt will be absent due to mild concussion. Captain Tammy Waine is also a slight doubt after suffering neck spasms.

A couple of players are expected to be called up from the title-challenging reserve side, with Amy Potkins and Megan Stow set to be included in the squad.

Entry to tonight’s game is priced at £4.00 for adults and £2.00 for concessions.
