Will Buckley has set himself a five-goal target to help Brighton & Hove Albion reach the play-offs.
The winger has had a stop-start season due to niggling injuries but after his brace at Bolton Wanderers last Saturday took his tally to three, he now has more goals in his sights.
“I scored eight times in my first season here, eight last year, so I’ve set myself a target of trying to get another five this season,” he told Seagull, Albion’s matchday programme.
“To help me get there, I know I need to keep myself fit, keep playing every game because that’s how you get your true match sharpness and fitness. I’m feeling good though; I’ve started the past couple of games and I’m feeling confident of having a good end to the season.”

Leo Ulloa has led the way in the Seagulls’ goal charts this campaign, and Buckley feels the rest of the team need to start contributing more in terms of goals, to lift the weight off the Argentine’s shoulders.
“It’s important that we help chip in with more goals to help Leo,” he adds. “He has been fantastic for us, a real handful for opposing defenders, but scoring goals is the hardest job in football so we can’t expect him to score every game. In our formation, the midfielders – in particular – are looking to help him out and I’m sure we will.”
