Debutant Joao Teixeria’s strike proved the difference as Brighton & Hove Albion came from behind to defeat Bolton Wanderers 2-1 at the Amex.
Teixeria weaved his way into the Wanderers box before finishing low underneath Lonergan in the 63rd minute to give Albion victory.
Albion had all the possession in the opening stages and had the first attempt on goal when Bruno fizzed his shot just wide of the post after just 60 seconds.
Jake Forster-Caskey was the first to hit the target though as his shot from distance was saved well by Adam Bogdan.
In the 14th minute Chung-Yong Lee should have given Bolton the lead but he fired over, unmarked, inside the Seagulls box.
Five minutes later, Teixeria almost converted from Craig Mackail-Smith’s delivery but the angle was tight and he hit the side netting.
The Trotters then had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock when David Wheater headed over unchallenged in the 21st minute.
It was a sign of things to come, as Bolton took the lead three minutes later; this time it was Wheater's centre-half partner Matt Mills who headed in from Jay Spearing’s free kick.
Three minutes later the Seagulls had a penalty shout turned down when Mackail-Smith felt he was fouled competing for Joe Bennett’s teasing ball.
Mackail-Smith was in the action once more when his first time curling effort was excellently tipped onto the bar by Bogdan.
It was the Scotland international who drew Albion level, as he finished from close range after a great ball across the box from Calderon following good build up play from Albion.
Bolton keeper Bogdan cut himself as he clashed with a teammate, trying to keep out Albion's equaliser - and had to be replaced by Andy Lonergan.

In added time at the end of the first half Albion had Bolton pinned back and had a host of chances.
First substitute keeper Lonergan saved well from Gordon Greer before Jay Spearing cleared Lewis Dunk’s header off the line.
Dunk then drilled a low ball in towards Andrew Crofts but Lonergan saved well to keep the scores level at the break.
In the 51st minute ex-Albion striker Craig Davies curled an effort just wide of Stockdale’s post.
Eight minutes later Mackail-Smith nearly produced a moment of magic when he tried a spectacular over-head effort which flew just wide of the post.
Just after the hour Teixeria scored on his home debut to make it two in two for Albion when he weaved into Bolton’s boxed and finished low past Lonergan, when the keeper really should have done better.
Crofts then drove a long-range effort just wide of the post before Greer headed over from Forster-Caskey’s set piece.
In the 87th minute Kazenga LuaLua raced down the wing and picked out Mackail-Smith, but the striker fired over.
The Seagulls soaked up late Wanderers pressure to secure Hyypia’s first home league win of the season and make it back-to-back victories.
