Brighton & Hove Albion women captain Tammy Waine says the side needs to bounce back following yesterday’s defeat to Cardiff.

The Seagulls were beaten 3-0 by the title-chasing Bluebirds and Waine hopes the side will put in a positive display on Sunday against Sussex rivals Lewes.
She told seagulls.co.uk, “Cardiff are one of the better sides in the league and it wouldn’t surprise me if they went on to win the league.

“They have that confidence from competing for a league title and showed a real sense of togetherness on the pitch.

“The challenge for us now is to overcome that adversity and come back stronger. We’ll work hard in training like we always do and hopefully we’ll learn from that game and be strong and raring to go for Lewes.

“We beat them in the first game and they’ll be out for revenge because that defeat (Albion won 6-0) hurt them and they’re playing quite well at the moment.

“But we have confidence in our ability and the key is to match their desire and intensity.
