A Toni Duggan hat-trick inspired England to an emphatic 9-0 win over Montenegro at the Amex Stadium.

A first-half double from Duggan and goals from Eniola Aluko and Jill Scott saw the hosts go into the break with a comfortable 4-0 lead.

The romp continued in the second half when Duggan completed her hat-trick while Karen Carney, Lianne Sanderson, Demi Stokes and Natasha Dowie added to the scoreline.

The result ensured the Three Lionesses continued their perfect start in their World Cup qualifying group and helped coach Mark Sampson claim victory in his first home game as England boss.

Sampson's side made the perfect start when Duggan rifled home inside 60 seconds for her sixth goal of the qualifying campaign.

In a rare foray forward, Montenegro could have equalised when Sladjana Bulatovic forced a great save from Siobahn Chamberlain.

But it was plain sailing from then on and Duggan had her and England’s second just 12 minutes later, bundling home Fara Williams's cross-come-shot.
Aluko added a third in the 37th minute, steering Scott’s pin-point cross in off the post.

Scott was in the thick of action again just two minutes later when she delightfully lobbed a helpless Maria Zizic to make it four.

England’s dominance continued into the second half and Carney provided a fifth, prodding home from inside the box.

It was 6-0 moments later when Sanderson rounded the on-rushing Zizic before seeing her effort deflect into the roof of the net.

Stokes was the next to get in on the act, blasting home from six yards to claim her first England goal.

Woman of the Match Duggan completed a memorable hat-trick 20 minutes from time, firing an unstoppable drive into the top corner from 20 yards.

She then turned provider, delivering a perfect cross for substitute Dowie to volley in from 12 yards.

The resounding win leaves England in pole position to qualify for the World Cup in Canada next year.

England: Chamberlain (GK); Alex Scott, Houghton, Bronze, Stokes; Williams, Jill Scott, Carney (Dowie 59); Aluko (Moore 64), Duggan, Sanderson (White 72).

Subs not used: Telford (GK), Bassett, Greenwood, Stoney.
