Graham Potter's side restricted Leeds United to half-chances last Satuday.

Graham Potter wants his side to build on the weekend's clean sheet against Leeds United.

Albion recording their first shutout of the new calendar year in the 1-0 win in Yorkshire and the head coach praised the collective efforts of his men.

He said, “I feel we've defended well as a whole for the most part this season but perhaps conceded goals that were a little bit too easy considering the amount of pressure we've been under in certain matches.

“We restricted a very attack-minded Leeds side to very little and it was a fantastic effort from the players. I think we controlled things better than we have done and that isn't easy to do at this level.

Robert Sanchez kept a second clean sheet of the season at Elland Road.

“It was at the end of a tough week as well, so it's an incredible effort and when we needed a bit of quality at other end of the field, we had it.”

Albion were without Tariq Lamptey, Adam Lallana, Danny Welbeck, Aaron Connolly and Alireza Jahanbakhsh, and Potter acknowledges that he has an extremely competitive squad at his disposal, something that he says will be key in the second half of the season.

“We've had some players missing recently, but the important ones are the ones who are playing.

“When everyone is back, we'll have a competitive squad and I think we'll need that as the second half of the season will be quite compact in terms of the time between matches. We are halfway through the season and a lot of football still has to be played. We should embrace that and be ready to fight in every game.”
