Alexis Mac Allister has put in some superb performances in Albion's last two Premier League matches.

Graham Potter has praised the recent performances of Alexis Mac Allister after another impressive showing at the weekend.

The midfielder laid on a fantastic assist for Neal Maupay's decisive goal at Elland Road on Saturday, and the head coach is pleased with his three eye-catching showings in six days.

He said, “He did well in the week at Manchester City and the only consideration from our point of view was whether or not he could go again at the weekend after playing against Newport as well.

“I thought he was really impressive again. He started three games in a week, and he lasted really well against Leeds - it's good he’s had a run of matches.

Alexis Mac Allister put the ball on a plate for Neal Maupay to stroke home against Leeds.

“He reads the game really well and has a good footballing brain, he showed that with his final pass for the goal.”

Mac Allister was recalled from a loan spell with Boca Juniors last January and has played a prominent role for Albion of late.

Potter spoke about the transitional period the 22-year-old has dealt with over the last 12 months.

“Sometimes when players make the move there can be an assumption that it will all happen for them straight away.

“He's moved from South America and was adapting to a new country before COVID and then picked up a couple of injuries.

“But he's a determined individual and he's a really good guy to work with.”
