Neal Maupay celebrates scoring against West Ham.

Danny Welbeck, Antef Tsoungui, Neal Maupay and Teddy Jenks make up the shortlist – and here's why they’ve been nominated…

Danny Welbeck v Sheffield United:

The forward registered his first goal at the Amex against the Blades in a 1-1 draw.

Welbeck expertly chested down a ball into the area before firing it beyond Aaron Ramsdale to mean the spoils were shared against the Blades.

Antef Tsoungui v Everton:

The defender fired home in superb fashion deep into added time as Albion’s under-23s earned a deserved 2-2 draw at home to Everton.

Albion had found themselves 2-0 down, but Teddy Jenks scored a penalty late in the first half before Tsoungui’s dramatic late leveller.

Neal Maupay v West Ham United:

Maupay made it five for the season when he fired Albion into a first-half lead at the London Stadium.

The French striker’s goal was coolly taken on the turn inside the area in a 2-2 draw.

Teddy Jenks v Manchester City:

The midfielder netted an excellent long-range goal in injury time, but it wasn’t enough for Albion’s under-23s to get anything from their Premier League 2 game away to Manchester City.
