Joel Veltman has welcomed the return of fellow Dutchman Davy Propper to the side as Albion look to build some momentum after their stirring fightback against Wolves.

While Veltman, a summer signing from Ajax, made his 12th Premier League appearance and ninth start in Saturday's 3-3 draw, Propper was playing only his second league game after he was plagued by Achilles trouble in the first few weeks of the campaign.

“First and foremost he brings a lot of quality and cleverness on the ball,” said Veltman. “He is also very strong positionally, he always knows where he should be and he can see danger.”

Veltman is also pleased that Propper's return means he can converse on the pitch in Dutch.

“Sometimes I will speak to him in Dutch and sometimes in English, it's the same with Leo [Trossard], who also knows Dutch.

“English is still the main language on the pitch of course, because we all understand that but you can communicate with teammates more directly if you speak in their native language and sometimes it can put off the opposition!

“Davy is usually playing on the right-hand side of the pitch close to me so that makes it even better.”

Propper could be involved again when Albion return to League action at Manchester City next week as Yves Bissouma serves a one-match ban after picking up his fifth yellow card against Wolves.

“Saturday like an important result, we showed character and this is what we need to produce in every game because I think we have the quality to get results in the Premier League,” said Veltman.

“At half-time we felt luck wasn't with us a bit, but you can't use that as an excuse. We said 'look, let's think it's 0-0, fight for everything and see what happens.' It really helped that we got a goal back straight away and I felt we deserved to make it 3-3.

“After the equaliser we could have won the game. Leo scored but it was given as a foul which we didn't understand because there wasn't much contact, then they had an unbelievable chance right at the end so maybe we got a bit of luck with that which we haven’t always had this season.”
