Denise O'Sullivan makes her final Albion appearance on Sunday.

Denise O'Sullivan reflected on a good Albion performance but ultimately a disappointing defeat to reigning champions Chelsea yesterday.

Despite a determined showing against the highflying Blues, it was 2019 PFA Player of the Year Sam Kerr who ensured the visitors took all three points with a smart header into the bottom corner midway through the first half in a 1-0 win.

“We were a bit unlucky in the end,” the Republic of Ireland international said. “Chelsea are one of the best teams in the league, especially with the players that they have signed.

“We should be proud of the performance, but we're also disappointed because we should have got something out of the game. We put up a good fight and we showed how well we can play.

“If the game had gone on for a few minutes longer we might've found the goal. For the last 15 minutes we really pushed on and got in behind their defence – it ended up being one of those games where we just couldn’t find the back of the net, but we will take the positives.

“We will work on things that we could have done better, but the mood is really positive going into the Reading game on Sunday and we want to get three points out of that. I am proud of everyone.

“Chelsea were clinical in front of goal and that proved to be the difference. They didn't get that many chances, but Chelsea are a fantastic team, that's the level that Brighton wants to get to.”
