We weren't happy about Spurs defeat and need to improve, says Albion's Welsh international.

Kayleigh Green wants to see Albion put in more consistent performances.

Albion have a better points average compared to last season but that doesn't mean they are pleased with recent performances, according to midfielder Kayleigh Green.

Her side are averaging nearly 0.2 points-per-game more this campaign (1) compared to last season (0.81), but Green says they can still be more consistent.

“For the last few games we haven't performed at the best we can although if you compare it to last season our consistency is a lot better.

“Against Tottenham last Sunday too many players underperformed, nobody was happy after the game.”

Albion tend to fair better against the stronger sides and have taken points off of Manchester City and Everton this season. They will need to be at their best on Sunday when they entertain champions Chelsea.

Kayleigh Green was disappointed with Albion's performance against Tottenham.

“When we play against the top sides there is a different kind of pressure and we seem more relaxed and play with a bit more freedom. As a squad so we need to play like that every game.

“We're slowly doing it, but we haven’t got it right yet and we need to keep working at it. We have to figure these things out quickly though, because we have expectations this season and we don't want to be fighting it out at the bottom of the table.”

Chelsea's unbeaten league record stretches 30 games to January 2019 but Green believes Albion are capable of repeating last season's 1-1 draw against them.

“All the girls including myself go into the game believing we can compete with them. They've got some top players. The way they move the ball makes them one of the best teams in the league.

“But when everyone in our team is on top and knows their jobs, we pull out results. That's something we need to be doing more consistently, especially when we're facing the likes of Chelsea.”
