Danny Welbeck got into some good positions against Burnley and could have opened his account for the campaign.

Danny Welbeck believes that the more minutes he gets under his belt the better he will be in an Albion shirt.

Welbeck impressed in his first Premier League start since 26th July and forced Burnley keeper Nick Pope into a couple of expert saves.

“Nick Pope made a good save for my first effort, my second one I didn't quite get my touch right.

Welbeck: I'm getting sharper all the time

“But that will come with more matches as I build up that sharpness, playing more games and getting more minutes. I am feeling better with each passing week.”

The 29-year-old lamented the fact that Albion didn’t take all three points against the Clarets, and thought they had enough opportunities to win.

“There were a few chances where maybe we could have made the final ball a little bit better and a couple of chances that we could have put away. But we will work on that, take the point and move on.

“I have played against Burnley for years and you know what you’re going to come up against. They make it tough for strikers.

“If you get balls in the box you know they're going to defend it well, so you've got to be quite cute with your movement into the box. They kept a clean sheet which I am disappointed with.”
