Tariq Lamptey's strike was his fist Premier League goal.

Tariq Lamptey was frustrated that his first Albion goal wasn’t enough to earn his side a point at Tottenham Hotspur.

The 20-year-old equalised in the second half but Gareth Bale sealed a 2-1 win after coming off the bench.

He said, “We definitely deserved something from the game – we gave it our all until the final whistle.

Albion celebrate Tariq Lamptey's equaliser against Tottenham.

“You can never feel like you’ve done enough until the final whistle goes. It was nice to get the goal, but the main thing is the team and to get something from the game, which we didn’t. On another day we do."

Asked about his goal Lamptey said, “It was a fantastic moment for me, but it was unlucky that it didn’t get a result for the team.

“When you are wing-back on the other side has got the ball, it’s good to get in at the back post and Pascal Gross did really well to find me and I slotted it away.”

Solly March went off injured midway through the second half at Tottenham.

Albion are back in action against Burnley at the Amex on Friday

“We have had quite a tough run of games, but hopefully now we can start picking up some points.”
