Jensen Weir has settled into life quickly with Albion.

It's been an impressive start to the season for Jensen Weir who has helped Albion maintain their unbeaten start in Premier League 2, ahead of tonight’s game against Leicester City.

The summer arrival from Wigan Athletic has been a regular in a team who have gone five without defeat and could go top if they beat the Foxes.

He said, “The lads have helped me settle in on and off the pitch. I feel comfortable, but I still have a lot to learn.

“I have built relationships quite quickly. The group have opened up to me and I have tried to do the same. It's helped a lot on the pitch as it gets the most out of me, and hopefully it gets the most out of them as well.”

Jensen Weir has been an important cog in the middle of the park for Albion under-23s this season.

The midfielder arrived at Albion as Wigan's youngest ever appearance maker at just 15 years and 280 days old.

“I have lived in Warrington all my life so it’s been a big change for me having only played for Wigan before, but the people at the club are really nice and have made it easy. I like Brighton – there’s a lot to do, a lot more than I thought there would be if I'm honest!”

The 17-year-old plays alongside Andrew Crofts in the middle of the park, and the player-coach has been impressed by Weir’s ability and work ethic.

Crofts said, “Jensen is very mobile and his energy levels are high. For a central midfielder he is a powerful runner who covers a huge amount of ground, which has a really positive affect on games.

“He has still got a lot to learn, but he is ready to do that and he always asks questions. He has settled well into the group and he’s a really honest boy.

Andrew Crofts has described Jensen Weir as a 'really honest boy'.

“There’s a lot in this group like that. I have really enjoyed playing alongside them and I have got some strong relationships with them.

Weir says those relationships have helped him thrive.

“Crofty has been really good. He guides me through games and I believe he has already made me a better player.

“He passes on his experience which can only make me better. He tells me what I need to work on and I agree with what he says.”
