Albion head coach Graham Potter.

Graham Potter says he has no problem with putting his belief in the club's youth.

Albion have fielded, on average, the youngest starting eleven in the division during the opening four weeks of the new season.

Last season at Burnley, the club started with its youngest ever Premier League starting line-up.

Potter said, "Young players have got no fear. They want to go and do exactly what they believe in, which is a really good thing.

“At the same time there is also a process that you have to go through, because they will make mistakes.

“Their performance levels might be a little bit inconsistent because they are going through a process of adapting to the league or taking their next steps.

“I think as a club we understand that. We have to work with them and help them enjoy their football while feeling comfortable on the pitch.

“Age in itself doesn’t solve your problems or win you games. In theory it sounds nice to have a young team and it is what people want to do, but there is a lot of work that has to go into it."

Graham Potter's Crystal Palace Press Conference

The team travel to Selhurst Park on Sunday looking to register their second away win of the new campaign.

“Crystal Palace have plenty of qualities that can cause teams problems but that’s the same in any game in the Premier League.

“They can hurt you at any moment and they have good experience.

“Roy Hodgson has made them very organised. They are seasoned professionals that have had really good careers.

“We need to be smart and we need to be brave and alert. If you drop your focus and concentration at any point in this league, whoever you play against, you can be in trouble.”
