Deadline day signings Jakub Moder and Michal Karbownik both impressed as Poland enjoyed a big win at the start of a busy few days for Albion’s internationals.

Karbownik made his full debut and played the entire 90 minutes in a 5-1 friendly win over Finland in Gdansk, as Poland prepare for UEFA Nations League matches against Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the next few days.

Moder, who was winning his second full cap and played in midfield, was involved in one of the goals before being withdrawn after an hour.

Karbownik joined Albion from Legia Warsaw and Moder from Lech Posnan on Monday and both were immediately loaned back to their former clubs.

Meanwhile, Joel Veltman came on as a substitute for Holland who lost 1-0 to Mexico in a friendly in Amsterdam. The Dutch are preparing for Nations League matches against Bosnia and Italy.

Albion’s Ireland trio Aaron Connolly, Jayson Molumby and Shane Duffy, are in Bratislava to prepare for tonight’s Euro 2021 play-off against Slovakia. Leo Ostigard is in Oslo as Norway take on Serbia in another play-off.
