Lamptey gets away from Newcastle winger Alan Saint-Maximin.

Tariq Lamptey, Neal Maupay and Solly March make up the three-man shortlist for the first month of the new Premier League season – this is why they have been nominated.

Tariq Lamptey vs Chelsea:

The young defender caught the eye in Albion’s first game of the new Premier League season against his former club.

Lamptey provided the assist to Leandro Trossard for Albion’s goal and was a constant threat for Graham Potter’s men.

Tariq Lamptey vs Newcastle:

Lamptey once against earned widespread praise six days later at St James’s Park with another fine performance.

The full back was always dangerous and won the visitors a penalty which allowed Neal Maupay to open the scoring. Potter’s side would run out 3-0 winners and secure their first league victory of the campaign.

Neal Maupay vs Newcastle:

Maupay got his goal tally for the new season up and running in some style at St James’s Park.

The French forward converted from the penalty spot to open the scoring before turning home Trossard’s cross soon after to double his and Albion’s account for the afternoon.

Solly March vs Manchester United:

A dramatic game at the Amex ended in heartbreak for Albion, but the performance left Potter with plenty of positives.

Solly March earned the man of the match award after heading home in injury time with what looked to be the equaliser at 2-2.

Bruno Fernandes would score a penalty in the tenth minute of added time which meant United ended the day 3-2 winners.
