Kayleigh Green wants to help Albion reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

Kayleigh Green wants Albion to make history when they take on Birmingham City in the quarter-finals of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.

The game takes place at Crawley Town’s People’s Pension Stadium, kick off 2pm.

Green said, “It’s great to be challenging for a place in the last four of the competition which we might not have done before. We want to make history and if we beat Birmingham then we reach the semis.

Megan Connolly scored a fantastic goal to help Albion on their way to three points against Birmingham City at the start of the season.

“It’s going to be tough. We came up against them at the beginning of the season [Albion won 2-0] but they’ve pretty much got a new team and have brought in some strong players.

“But it works both ways because they’ve played us and they know what we’re like - it’s not going to be an easy game.”

The Wales international wants her teammates to avoid any complacency.

“We can’t think that because we beat them 2-0 it’s going to be an easy ride, because it isn’t,” said Green.

“But since the international break last weekend we’ve come back into training and the levels have been really high, there’s a lot of energy. I want us to take that into the game on Sunday.”

The arrival of seven new faces have given the squad real impetus, according to Green.

Striker Denise O'Sullivan was Albion's most recent recruit, joining on loan until the end of 2020 from North Carolina Courage.

She added, “This year it feels so different, it feels fresh. Everybody has so much energy and that’s probably something we’ve got more of this season.

“We’ve got a lot of players who are talking and working hard. When we drew 0-0 at Manchester City two weeks ago the players on the bench were cheering us on when we were tired. We could hear their voices and that pushes you on.”
