New signing Ulrick Eneme Ella made his debut for Albion under-23s in the 2-0 defeat to AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Trophy.
The striker came on with 25 minutes to play, having joined the club from Ligue 2 side Amiens.
The 19-year-old said, “I am happy to have made my first appearance for Brighton and now I want to get some goals for the team.
“The game was ok, it wasn’t easy as Wimbledon are a physically strong side. If we work hard though I think we can do better if I play in our next game against Chelsea.”
Eneme feels he has settled in quickly with the Seagulls and has been impressed by the standard of both the coaching and the facilities.
“Everything is very good at the club – the training ground, the coaches,” he added. “I can see that I can progress here, I want to test myself. I want to be better than yesterday and help the team as much as possible.”
The France under-19 international arrives on the south coast having been involved with the Amiens first team last season, as well as featuring regularly for his country at youth level.
He said, “I trained with the first team at Amiens and was on the bench a few times although I never made an appearance, but I mainly played for the second team.
“I played a lot of football with the France under-19s and I was the top scorer for them last season. It was a good year, I got three goals and four assists.”
