The new Fantasy Football season begins this weekend.

The ever-popular game of Premier League Fantasy Football returns on Saturday 12th September as the 2020/21 campaign gets underway.

As always, every member of the Albion squad is available for selection, and we’ve taken a look at which players could represent the best value for your side this year.

In safe hands

Maty Ryan (£4.5m) was the highest scoring Albion player in the game last term with a total of 135 points for the 2019/20 season.

The Australian was selected by 21.9% of all teams in the game for the 2019/20 season and played every single minute of Premier League action for Graham Potter’s side.

The 28-year-old also kept nine clean sheets and amassed 14 bonus points during the course of the campaign.

Captain fantastic

Lewis Dunk (£5.0m) racked up 128 points last year and missed only two league games for Potter’s men throughout the entirety of the season.

The club captain and Albion’s 2019/20 Player of the Season helped the side to nine clean sheets, provided three assists, notched three goals and earned 17 bonus points.

Double figure tally for Maupay

Neal Maupay (£6.5m) notched ten times last season during his first year in the Premier League, finishing as Albion’s top scorer in the process.

The Frenchman was actually only selected by 2.4% of players in the game but ended the year with a total of 131 points – second behind the aforementioned Ryan.

Albion’s striker will be hoping to replicate the form he showed last year in England’s top-flight, which also saw him record the highest amount of bonus points for the Seagulls with 21.

The new faces

Both Adam Lallana (£6.5m) and Joel Veltman (£4.5m) bring a wealth of experience to Potter’s men this term, and both are available for selection ahead of the big kick-off.

Lallana earned 27 points last season for Liverpool, while the versatile Veltman brings European and international pedigree to the south coast ahead of his debut season in England.

Looking for something different?

For those looking to go against the grain and pick out some bargains for the new season, we’ve picked out a quartet of Seagulls faces who could also be worth bearing in mind for your teams.

The defensive and youthful duo of Tariq Lamptey and Ben White – both valued at £4.5m, will both be looking to cement their places in Albion’s side this campaign.

Lamptey enjoyed a fine breakthrough in the latter stages of the 2019/20 campaign following Project Restart, putting in a string of man of the match performances for the Seagulls.

The fleet-footed defender recently earned his first England under-21 call-up as a result and will be hoping to continue that progress for Albion when the new season gets underway.

White played every minute of league action as he played a pivotal role in helping Leeds United win the Championship title last term, as Marcelo Bielsa’s men joined Albion in the Premier League.

The highly rated defender signed a new four-year deal with Albion at the start of this month and has already stated his desire to be a regular feature for Potter’s team.

In midfield, the pair of Yves Bissouma and Steven Alzate also represent good value, with both looking to kick-on and feature regularly for Potter’s men this term.

Bissouma is beginning his third season for Albion in the Premier League and was a stand-out performer for the final nine matches of the campaign.

A succession of eye-catching displays were capped by his first goal for the club in the final game of the season at Burnley - the Malian midfielder’s stunning effort in the 2-1 win at Turf Moor was nominated for the club’s Goal of the Season award.

Alzate recently signed a new contract which will keep him at the club until June 2024 following his breakthrough campaign with the Seagulls last season.

The midfielder featured regularly in the 2019/20 campaign before suffering a groin injury which meant surgery back in July.

As well as making 11 starts, Alzate also made his first international appearances for Colombia and netted 33 points in the game last year.

Looking back on his breakthrough campaign, the midfielder feels that he has adjusted well but knows he needs to continue his improvement to maintain his place in the first team squad.

“The Premier League is the best league in the world: the standard, the tempo, the intensity, everything is so quick. I feel like I have managed it quite well, but I want to keep improving.”
