The 23-year-old, who joined Albion last summer from Portsmouth before heading to Pride Park, made 37 appearances for the Rams and scored a solitary goal against Hull City in February.

His consistency and adaptability was praised during the season by Derby boss Phillip Cocu and he took the award after an online poll by Derby fans.

Clarke spoke earlier in the season about how much he enjoyed his time with Derby. “I’ve played a lot of games and to be learning from players like Wayne Rooney has been a great experience for me,” he said.
