New kit sales 300% up on 2019!

Albion’s new home kit has been an instant hit with fans, with a massive 300% increase in sales compared to this time last year.

Chief executive Paul Barber said, “The demand for the new shirt has been staggering, with opening day sales four times the amount we sold on the first day of sales last year.

“We are really pleased. Particularly when we consider there were no pre-orders, no home matchday to support sales, no external advertising, other than our own social media channels, and our only store was closed on launch day!

“We took a bold decision to do something different from our traditional blue and white stripes and our supporters are clearly in love with it!”

The timing was perfect with one of the player who modelled the new strip Yves Bissouma scoring a spectacular goal in the new shirt at Burnley.

Albion celebrate Yves Bissouma's fantastic strike in the new 2020/21 home shirt.

Then on Monday we unveiled the signing of Adam Lallana and shirts with his name on the back are already proving extremely popular.

Barber added, “We’re looking forward to wearing the new kit next season and of course seeing thousands of our fans in it when we can welcome them safely back to the Amex.”

The pinstripe design first featured on Albion’s 1983/84 kit, which was a white pinstripe on a blue shirt, sponsored by Phoenix Brewery, and worn that season and the following one.

Albion also wore a shirt featuring blue and white pinstripes with solid blue sleeves in 1993/94 which was worn for two seasons.

Fans clearly love it with huge demand online and again when the Amex superstore reopened on Tuesday and saw brisk business as soon as the doors opened.

Albion will unveil their new-look away strip ahead of the new season, which kicks off in mid September.
