Geum-min Lee signs for the Albion from Manchester City on loan for the campaign.

Albion have today made their fifth new signing ahead of the new Women’s Super League season by bringing in South Korea international Lee Geum-min on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

The 26-year-old striker joined City in August 2019 after impressing during last year’s World Cup in France and made her WSL debut against Manchester United last September. She scored her first WSL goal against Birmingham City last October.

Lee began her career in South Korea at youth level with Hyundai Info-Tech HS and Ulsan College before she signed for Seoul in 2015.

Geum-Min Lee had her first training session with the women's team today.

She spent two years at Seoul, scoring 26 goals and creating 12 assists in 57 appearances across three seasons. She then joined Gyeongju KHNP in 2018 before heading to England.

A regular for South Korea, she has made more than 50 appearances for her country and scored 16 goals. Last season she made six appearances for City and played in their Champions League campaign.

Albion head coach Hope Powell said, “We’re delighted to bring Lee to the club, it’s a real coup for us to sign a player of her quality and experience.

“She has had a year in England so knows the league and she will help us in an area that want to improve which is to score more goals.

“We’re really looking forward to working with her and I know how much she is looking forward to a new challenge here at Brighton.”
