Leandro Trossard says Albion can take some positives from Tuesday’s setback against Manchester United when they return to Premier League action.

The Belgian made a lively contribution as a second-half substitute but United stretched their unbeaten run to 15 games with a 3-0 win.

Trossard twice went close and Neal Maupay and Aaron Connolly nearly got a goal Albion’s spirited performance in the final third of the contest merited.

“Our response was good in the second half and that’s what we have to focus on looking at the Norwich game,” said Trossard.

“The third goal was the really important one, and when they got that it made it tough for us to come back. All credit to United, they played well and were stronger but there were positives for us too.”

Next up for Albion is a trip to Norwich on Saturday and an opportunity for Graham Potter’s side to put some daylight between themselves and the five teams below them. Trossard was on target at the Amex in November when he scored the opening goal in Albion’s 2-0 win.

“The games come fast at the moment and that’s good for us in terms of being able to make up for Tuesday and hopefully get a good result on Saturday,” added Trossard.

“We have to take the good points from the United game and try to make it difficult for Norwich on Saturday.”
