Albion defender Dan Burn praised the attacking prowess of Manchester United after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side defeated the Seagulls 3-0 at The Amex on Tuesday.

The former Wigan man reflected on a difficult first half, but feels his side can take positives from a strong response in the second 45 minutes.

Burn said, “To be fair to Manchester United I thought they were really good, both times we have played them this season we’ve struggled. We started the second half well, but once they got that third goal it killed it off. We still created some good stuff, but United deserved the win.

“It was very frustrating in the first half. We knew they were good on the transition, we tried to make them play on the outside rather than the inside, but the goals kill you and we were chasing the game early on.

“When there are quality players for the opposition they can pop the ball around you and it was a tough night. It was a learning curve, but we’ve beaten Arsenal and we’ve drawn with Leicester so I think we need to stay confident.

“We have got a big game on Saturday at Norwich, so we need to put this game to bed and move on.

“We did cause problems in the second half. If you look at a lot of our games this season, we create chances and we play good football. So I think there are positives to take from the game, but if you look at the quality they had and the way they finished off the counter-attacks, they deserved the win.”
