Graham Potter has praised the impact made by teenage defender Tariq Lamptey.
The 19-year-old defender made an impressive start to his Seagulls career with a man of the match performance at Leicester City last Tuesday.
Potter said, “He’s been great, you have to give him time to settle into a new environment and new teammates because he had been at Chelsea a long time. But he’s been such a fantastic kid.
“He’s just really humble - he wants to work and help the team. He plays with that bit of sacrifice which I like. He has been a joy to work with and while people saw his qualities at Leicester we see them every day.
“It’s another thing to make the step-up into the Premier League, especially with the position that we’re in. You want to make sure it is the right thing for the team and the player himself. I am just delighted that he contributed for us.
“The only difference from before the Leicester game and after is that he’s got a massive cut on his face! Apart from that he’s still the same kid. He’s a real level-headed, grounded boy and it’s nice for him to get his debut out of the way. He’s been himself and that’s the most important thing.”
