My Albion memories: Tara Malins

We asked for your personal highlights of supporting Albion. Today it's Tara Malins.

When was your first game? What was the score? What can you remember about the game?

My first game was home to Tranmere at Withdean on 27th March 2010. We won 3-0 with goals from Glenn Murray, Andrew Crofts and Ashley Barnes. I remember this was the first of three games I attended at the end of this season as my dad took me to see if I enjoyed it (which of course I did, otherwise I wouldn’t be following the Albion home and away now) and we won all three so I was dubbed a lucky charm.

Who was your first Albion idol?

Elliott Bennett. Not 100% sure as to why he became a favourite of mine so quickly but very much revered him for both of his spells at the club (whilst he ran down the wing for me!)

What is your favourite Albion game and why?

Wigan at home when we were promoted to the Premier League. It was an amazing day with amazing celebrations. But other games like beating Manchester United at home to stay up and Millwall in the FA Cup having won on penalties to go to Wembley are definitely up there.

Which season stands out as your favourite?

I would probably say 2016/17 as it was a year of some very enjoyable football ending with promotion which we had wanted for years.

Which are your favourite Albion home and away shirts?

My favourite home shirt is either the 2009/10 shirt as it was my very first Brighton shirt or this season’s (2019/20). My favourite away shirt is the volt yellow one from the 2015/16 season.

What is your all-time Albion XI?

David Stockdale, Bruno, Lewis Dunk, Steve Foster, Wayne Bridge, Anthony Knockaert, Steve Sidwell, Elliott Bennett, Kazenga LuaLua, Peter Ward, Glenn Murray
