Fans at the Amex.

More than 92% of season-ticket holders have renewed their season tickets for the 2020/21 season.

We appreciate the uncertainty of the current situation for many people, and we are pleased to offer supporters the opportunity of a three-month payment holiday to try and help alleviate some of the worries our season-ticket holders and 1901 Club members might have at the moment.

Following a meeting of the club’s board earlier today, it has been decided by the directors that after this month’s April direct debit payment is taken, that all renewing season-ticket holders and 1901 Club members will have the opportunity to opt in and take a three-month holiday from their monthly direct debits (this would be the May, June and July’s direct debit).

The precise details of this will be communicated to supporters shortly and you will have until 16th April to claim your payment holiday. Once claimed, you will not need to do anything with your Direct Debit as all the changes will be managed for you.

The Club asks that in order to support this three-month break that supporters do all they can to meet their April payment. This holiday will impact the club’s cash flow by around £3m.

General admission season ticket holders paying by monthly DD

For season-ticket holders, payments for the 2019/20 season ran from April 2019 to March 2020 and therefore season ticket holders have paid in full.

The first payment for 2020/21 will be deducted in April. Those who opt to take the payment holiday will be doing so from second, third and fourth payments for the 2020/21 season’s direct debits.

The cost of the season ticket for the 2020/21 season will be paid as follows:

First payment taken on April 2020. The payment holiday will kick in from May 2020 to July 2020. The remaining balance will be taken over eight months (instead of 11) from August 2020 to March 2021

By way of example, an adult season-ticket holder in the north stand who renewed in the same seat for the 20/21 season will pay £17.03 more per month from August 20 to March 21.

This is calculated as follows:

  • April: £45.49

(Normal monthly payment for £545 season ticket price)

  • May to July: £0.00
  • August to March: £62.44 per month

£545- £45.49 = £499.51

£499.51 = £62.44 (8 x monthly payments)

In the event that it is confirmed before August that you will be unable to see the remainder of the 2019/20 matches at the Amex, you will be given a pro-rata refund off the monthly season ticket payments for the 20/21 season.

So, for our same north stand season-ticket holder who paid £535 for his ticket in 2019/20 season, five games accounts for £140.79 of the season-ticket value. Meaning the sums would break down like this:

  • April: £45.49

(Normal monthly payment for £545 season ticket price)

  • May to July: £0.00
  • August to March: £44.84 per month
    £545 - £45.49 - £140.79 = £358.72
    £358.72 = £44.84 (8 x monthly payments)

1901 Club Members

For 1901 Club members, direct debits for the 2019/20 season run from August 2019 to July 2020.

If you wish to opt for the three-month payment holiday you will not pay the remaining three monthly payments of the 2019/20 season. The amount owed from the three-month payment holiday would then be spread from August 2020 to July 2021.

By way of example, a 1901 Club gold member pays £1,092 (+VAT) and will breakdown as follows:

  • April: £91 (+VAT) DD as normal
  • May to July: £0.00

Three-month payment holiday = £273 (+VAT)

  • August 20 to July 21: an additional £22.75 (+VAT) to be added to the monthly direct debit

In the event that it is confirmed before August that you will be unable to see the remainder of the 2019/20 season at the Amex, a 1901 Club gold member would have missed five out of 21 matches (19 league + 2 cup) and be entitled to a refund of £260 (+VAT).

For our 1901 Club gold members, paying £1,092 (+VAT), this would leave a £13 (+VAT) difference that would be added to the 2020/21 season direct debit, equating to £1.08 (+VAT) per month.
