Defender Maya Le Tissier says Albion's win over Birmingham City earlier in the season will count for little when the teams meet on Sunday for a place in the semi-finals of the Women's FA Cup.

Hope Powell's team were convincing 3-0 victors in the WSL at the Amex back in November and Birmingham come into Sunday's game having just parted company with head coach Marta Tejedor last week. They are two places and six points below ninth-placed Albion in the league table, albeit with three games in hand.

Le Tissier said: "It seems ages since we played them at the Amex, which was a great day for everyone, especially getting the three points and playing so well.

"But it’s four months since that game so I don’t think you can read too much into it for Sunday.

"It will be a battle and probably be quite tight, as most of our home games have been this season. But we’re confident that if we play as well as we have done in the last few games then we can go through."

The 17-year-old believes home advantage could play a big part on Sunday.

"It definitely helps to be at home with the fans at Crawley behind us and on our side," she added.

"We know it’s going to be a battle because there is a lot at stake and Birmingham will probably feel they’ve got a good chance as well. So to have the support with us could be very important during the game."

Tickets for Sunday's quarter-final are available in advance for just £4 for adults and £2. For more information and to buy tickets click here.
