Dale Stephens speaks to the media ahead of the trip to Wolves.

Dale Stephens is confident an upturn in results is not far away as Albion prepare to face Wolves at Molineux today.

The midfielder was an unused substitute last Saturday when Albion lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace despite having a record 24 shots, and insists there would be more cause for concern if his team were struggling to create openings.

He said, “We had a record number of shots against Palace and although we lost that can only encourage us, there was no kneejerk reaction and I don’t think it was necessary.

“It would be a lot more worrying if we weren’t creating chances that’s for sure. We’re more than confident we can turn it around and get the points we need.

“We’re looking for a bit of a break, something that can change our fortunes. We believe in what we’re doing and the processes we’ve gone through this season. We don’t think we are too far away from the finished product, but we know we have to pick up points quickly.”

Wolves have been one of the success stories of the Premier League season. They are sixth in the table after winning 3-2 at Spurs last Sunday and are in the last 16 of the Europa League.

The teams drew 2-2 at the Amex in December and Stephens is not surprised that the Molineux men are doing so well.

“They are a good side with a good manager and playing with a lot of confidence. They also have the quickest player in the league in Adama Traore.

"But we’re looking forward to the game. We’re happy with the way we’re playing but we realise we need to find that little bit extra to turn performances into wins.”
