A Myles Peart-Harris brace and a goal each from Marcel Lewis and Dion Rankine gave the Blues a convincing victory, as Mark Beard’s side were consigned to their fifth defeat of the season.

The hosts took the lead in the 19th minute when Thierno Ballo turned sharply inside the box and saw his shot saved by Roco Rees, but the rebound reached Peart-Harris, who tapped the ball in from close range.

Lewis doubled Chelsea’s advantage 20 minutes later when his corner beat Rees at his near post after a mix-up in the Albion defence.

The Blues effectively ended the game as a contest in the 52nd minute when Tino Livramento squared the ball to Peart-Harris, who fired his shot past Rees to make it 3-0.

Rankine added a fourth for Chelsea just past the hour mark when he linked up well with Lewis and saw his shot go across goal to beat Rees, making it 4-0 with 62 minutes played.

Beard’s team are next in action on Saturday when they host Arsenal at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre on 29th February.
