Albion head to Bramall Lane on the back of draws against West Ham United and Watford either side of the winter break, during which the players had a training camp in Tenerife.
Mooy said: “It was nice to have a rest and get some sun. I also had some days off with my family and it has been good to have some time away and get ready for the remaining 12 games. The season can be very hectic so it was important to have some recovery time.
“Our results haven’t been perfect and hopefully the break will help us improve in the games we have left, because we’re fresh and ready to go again. We haven’t won in a while so it would be nice if we could do that on Saturday.”
United have been the surprise Premier League team after winning promotion last season. They are sixth heading into Saturday’s sold-out game, just two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea and won 1-0 at the Amex in December.
“Sheffield United have got a very distinct style but they are having an amazing season,” added Mooy. They are unorthodox, their players move into positions you sometimes don’t expect and they have surprised a lot of people. I think we can win there because I know when we play at our best we will give anybody a good game, but it will be difficult for us.”
Although Albion haven’t won in the League since 28th December, Mooy draws confidence from the spirit they have shown to claim points from losing positions in their last two games.
He said, “We still believe in the way we’re playing and there’s a strong mentality in our dressing room," he added. "That spirit will help us and it’s been shown in the last two games, when we’ve come from behind to get valuable results.
“We have to stick together. We a hardworking group and I think that’s a good quality to have. Personally, I still feel I can contribute more and that’s what I am aiming to do. Hopefully the best is still to come from me.”
There is added competition for places in midfield after the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister and Mooy has been impressed with the 21-year-old since he began training with the squad earlier this week.
“He’s looked really good,” he said. “He’s got a good touch and looks a very technical, creative player. He’s quite young but he looks as if he can have a good career in the Premier League. Hopefully he can make an impression soon.”
