Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Aaron Mooy and Danny Cashman make up the three-man shortlist for the January award — let’s see why they’ve been nominated…

Alireza Jahanbakhsh vs Chelsea:

The Iranian midfielder netted his second goal for the club in spectacular style when Frank Lampard’s side visited the Amex Stadium on New Year’s Day.

Cesar Azpilicueta had handed the visiting side the lead after ten minutes on the south coast, but Jahanbakhsh levelled the scores six minutes from time with an acrobatic effort – his second strike in as many matches.

Aaron Mooy vs AFC Bournemouth:

The Australian midfielder netted against the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium to notch his second for the Seagulls.

Mooy had also found the back of the net in the 2-0 win over Eddie Howe’s men at the Amex Stadium at the end of December, but unfortunately this strike proved to be no more than a consolation as AFC Bournemouth claimed a 3-1 win.

Danny Cashman vs Blackburn Rovers:

The striker netted the decisive winning goal at the Leyland County Ground as Simon Rusk’s men came from behind to seal a 2-1 success in Premier League 2 Division 1.
