Alireza Jahanbakhsh celebrates with Neal Maupay after his goal against Chelsea.

Alireza Jahanabkhsh's acrobatic goal against Chelsea, Leandro Trossard’s superb effort versus Aston Villa, and defender Bernardo’s performance in the same game make up the shortlist for the first month of 2020 — let’s see why those performances been nominated…

Leandro Trossard vs Aston Villa:

The Belgian netted his third goal for the club in some style when Aston Villa visited the Amex Stadium earlier this month.

Trossard latched onto a neat pass from Neal Maupay before firing back across goal and into the far corner to give Graham Potter’s side the lead in the contest. Jack Grealish would level after the restart to mean the spoils were shared.

Bernardo vs Aston Villa:

The Brazilian defender turned in an impressive display in the stalemate with Dean Smith’s men on the south coast.

He made his first start of the new calendar year against Villa, and looked both dangerous in attack and solid in defence.
