It was a familiar tale at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday when Albion had 29 shots at goal – eight on target – but ended up losing 3-1 to AFC Bournemouth, whose goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was man of the match.
“We were very disappointed,” said the Iranian midfielder. “In the 30 minutes we controlled the ball, created chances and dominated the game. Then the first goal got them into the game and the second knocked the wind out of us.
“We tried to push on in the second half and created chances, but we couldn’t score, and the third goal kills the game.
“It is now a couple of games where we have done well and dominated the game, creating chances. In the last third we have perhaps been a bit unlucky. I’m pretty sure if we had scored the first goal on Tuesday, we would have dominated the game and put pressure on them, but it didn’t happen and that has to change.
“I‘m sure it will – we have the quality in our squad and if we can convert more of our chances we can get results.”
Next up for Albion is a trip to the London Stadium to face West Ham United on 1st February. It’s a venue where the Seagulls have done well in the past taking four points from two previous Premier League games there.
“It’s another tough test for us away from home, but we are going to try to keep pushing,” said Jahanbakhsh.
“Hopefully we can produce a good performance and end up with a better result in order to get points and climb back up the table.”
