Albion overcame Burgess Hill Town in the Sussex Senior Cup tonight.
  • Albion ease into quarter-finals of Sussex Senior Cup
  • Bojan Radulovic scores twice to set up deserved victory
  • Ben Wilson and substitute Lorent Tolaj also on target
  • Albion now away to Bognor Regis Town in quarter-finals

Ben Wilson and substitute Lorent Tolaj were also on target at the Green Elephants Stadium, as Albion secured a trip to Bognor Regis Town in the last eight.

The Isthmian Premier side will represent a step up for Albion, but Burgess Hill, who play in Isthmian South-East, gave Albion a decent workout in an entertaining 90 minutes on a sticky pitch.

Albion went ahead in the ninth minute when Marc Leonard’s right-wing cross was scrambled home from close range by Radulovic.

It was a deserved reward for a bright start by the Seagulls and it was no surprise when they doubled their lead seven minutes later. Romaric Yapi showed his considerable pace down the right and his cross was converted by Wilson, again from close in.

Radulovic nearly turned provider when his pass found Teddy Jenks in space, but the midfielder's shot lacked the power to trouble home keeper Josh James.

Bojan Radulovic scored twice against Burgess Hill.

The visitors’ speed and movement on the break troubled Burgess Hill throughout the first half, but the home side gradually began to see more of the ball and test Albion’s defence, and they pulled one back in the 31st minute. Jordi Ndozid won the ball in midfield, burst forward before drilling a low shot past Hugo Keto.

Albion nearly responded with a third goal before the break when Wilson’s corner found defender Lewis Freestone, but he couldn’t keep his header on target. At the other end, Keto got down to smother a shot from Max Miller.

The two-goal lead was restored within two minutes of the re-start when substitute Tolaj raced onto Leonard’s pin-point pass, controlled it with his first touch and slid a low shot past James with his second to make it 3-1.

Ben Wilson was on target in the match.

A fourth Albion goal came in the 57th minute when Toloupe Jonah’s header back to his goalkeeper was intercepted by Radulovic, who scored his second with ease from close range.

The visitors could have extended their lead in the closing stages with James making a superb save from a header by Tolaj, who then stretched to try and meet Romaric Yapi’s cross, but just couldn’t keep his shot on target.

Burgess Hill kept battling and Keto made a great double save from an Andrew Briggs free kick and Miller’s follow up, but they did get a second goal in the 82nd minute when a low shot from Briggs went in off the far post.

It was too late to change the outcome though, as Albion eased into the last eight.
