Megan Walsh was delighted to sign a new contract.

The shot-stopper signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with the club and praised the family-like atmosphere among the squad.

She said, “I’m really happy to extend my contract, and it’s a great place to be. Having security in football is always difficult, so it’s nice to be able to have that.

“I know that I’ve improved in the short period of time that I’ve been here and I want to keep developing as a player.

“When you arrive at a new club, you don’t really know what you’re coming into and it is even better here than what I originally expected. That’s in terms of the facilities, the staff, and how we’re treated as a women’s team within the men’s club.”

Megan Walsh put pen to paper on a new one-and-a-half-year deal.

Walsh also spoke about the battle for places in the squad and says the arrival of Cecile Fiskerstrand will only push her and fellow shot-stopper Sophie Harris to improve.

“There’s a good competitive environment within the goalkeeping group, and we always push each other to be better.

“The arrival of Cecile just adds to this, and we can only get better from that competitiveness.

“But at the same time, we look to support one another. If someone is having a bad day, you’ve got to support them and make them feel good.”
